If you live in Missouri and have any loose items outside of your home, you might want to tie them down before Sunday as the most recent forecast now says a dangerous squall line could bring damaging winds to parts of the state.

As I've shared already, the National Weather Service forecasters and storm chasers have warned Missouri of a strange combination of severe thunderstorms and possibly even blizzard conditions for this Sunday, March 15, 2026. That threat remains, but the newest outlook from NOAA's Storm Prediction Center now shows an enhanced area that includes southeastern Missouri up through parts of Illinois and Indiana that is especially at risk.

Here are the exact words from NOAA meteorologists in their discussions about this incoming storm on Sunday:

"Of greatest concern is potential for a severe squall line capable of widespread wind damage, along with a few tornadoes, developing during the evening across northeast AR, southeast MO, much of southern IL, central and southern IN, western KY and TN."

It's important to note that this threat area is moving and may change between now and Sunday. You should also be aware that there will be potential blizzard conditions in some parts of Missouri, too, when the high winds combine with snow to reduce visibility to a minimum. There is not a lot of accumulation expected with that part of the storm, but many parts of Missouri could see several inches before it's all said and done. The bottom line is that weather in Missouri is likely to be volatile (again) on Sunday. Make sure you're weather aware and have multiple ways to get NWS warnings if/when they're issued.
