The Truth Hurts – Locals Rate Missouri’s Absolutely 8 Worst Towns
Everyone has an opinion about Missouri places, but I tend to trust the opinions of those that actually live there instead of any old random internet person's perspective. That's why I trust what locals say are the absolutely worst 8 towns in the state of Missouri.
I found this fascinating (and often hilarious) conversation on the Missouri sub-Reddit recently. It asked the simple question "What is the worst city in MO?". Here are some of the more popular responses to that question from those who either live in these Missouri towns or have spent enough time there to know.
Note: I have blurred the user names to protect the guilty innocent and also some of the more "colorful" words used to describe these Missouri places.
Poplar Bluff, Missouri
Springfield and Farmington, Missouri
St. Joseph, Missouri
Sikeston, Missouri
Seymour, Missouri
Skidmore, Missouri
When entire Wikipedia pages are devoted to bad things that have happened in your Missouri town, you make this list.
Kansas City, Missouri
I was surprised to see many on the Missouri sub-Reddit share frustrations with Kansas City. The perception from the outside is the city is a growing and popular place. Mentions of how expensive everything is were rampant and I agree the roadway system is the epitome of confusing.
If you aren't easily scared by colorful language, check out the entire discussion on the Missouri sub-Reddit about the most awful places within Missouri's borders.
