Guys, I've got a good way you can help out a local kid to do great things for Mid-Missouri.

I'm sure you hear every year about different fundraisers.  Selling candy, posters, candles, whatever, to fund the field trips and special games and all sorts of stuff local young people have going on.

Well, I've got one you can participate in that is a small amount of commitment on your part, that will go a long way to not just help the Civil Air Patrol, but...also to help you.

Sedalia Cadet Flight Civil Air Patrol is holding a fundraiser to raise funds to help defray costs for one of their cadets to attend National Legislative Day in Washington DC 12-16 February 2024.

Sedalia Cadet Flight Cadet Commander Cadet 1st Lt. Justin Miller and nine other cadets from Missouri will meet with Missouri lawmakers in Washington DC from 12-16 February 2025. Legislative Day provides cadets an opportunity to educate elected representatives at the national level about all that CAP does for the nation. The day involves meeting with members of Congress and educating them on the benefits of CAP and what the program has meant to you.

And we all know what the CAP does around here.  The mentorship programs and Cadet programs help them develop leadership skills... they help with search and rescue, disaster relief, and also use a lot of teaching tools to help with STEM.

So you're thinking, Behk, "I can't pay for this kid's flight and hotel and all that".  Don't worry, they're not asking for that.  They're only asking for help with the last  $300.  That $300 is going to be for meals, tips, and whatever is left for souvenirs. The big parts of the trip are covered, this is the part they're asking the Cadet to cover. So basically, that's $60 a day, $20 a meal.  Pretty inexpensive, really.  They're probably gonna be eating a couple of fast food meals there.  So let's help him! He's going to Washington to advocate for us, so let's give him some good meals for the trip!

Here's to a great trip in February, Cadet Miller!

Fundingly yours,
Behka
