Holden Man Arrested for Felony Stealing in Johnson County
On Wednesday, the Johnson County Sheriff's Office successfully apprehended Joseph W. Pemberton, a 44-year-old Holden resident, for Felony Stealing.
JoCo Deputies and Detectives responded to a report regarding the theft of internet cables containing copper wires in the area of 131 Highway and SW 125 Road. This incident is part of ongoing thefts from telephone poles along the same highway.
“Thanks to advanced security measures, we received timely notifications and tracked the stolen lines. This technology led our investigators to a location outside Holden, where we discovered evidence that the cables had been burned and stripped,” the sheriff's office said.
“With this evidence, Pemberton was identified as the suspect and was taken into custody. We are pleased to share that the enhanced security measures have successfully combat this crime,” a press release read.
“Please don't hesitate to contact us if you have any information about thefts in the area. Together, we can keep our community safe!” the press release concluded.
