Help Young Brock Deal with Cancer with a Simple Gesture
Sometimes we find stories of kids somewhere in the United States, or for that matter, around the world, that's dealing with some type of illness or malady. In this case it's a young man named Brock Chadwick, and you can help brighten up his day.
7-year old Brock Chadwick lives near Portland, Maine and he was diagnosed with brain cancer back in February. He has a type called glioblastoma, and the prognosis isn't good.
His great-aunt decided she would try to cheer him up so she recently got on Facebook, and asked people to send him cards for Halloween. She was trying to come up with a name to make it even more special so she came up "Brocktoberfest." Little did she know how people would respond to it. In fact it's gotten way bigger than the family expected.
According to an article on the Huffington Post, hundreds of people from all over the world have been sending Chad cards, candy, books, and other gifts. He's been getting about 100 packages in the mail every day. And his mom says he's smiling a lot more because of it.
The family has posted a video on the Facebook page of some of the cards he's received and it's getting plenty of plays.
If you would like to send him something, you can address it to: Brock Chadwick, 11 McKenny Dr., Biddeford, ME 04005.
