The Liberty Center Association for the Arts, 111 W. 5th, has announced its fall schedule:

Thursday, October 20: An artist’s reception for the premiere art show in the new addition will be held from 5:30 p.m. to 7 p.m. The public is invited.

Friday, October 21: Live onstage will be a celebration of the arts featuring many of our community’s performing arts groups in theatre, music and comedy. This is a celebration of the arts featuring the renovation of the "Hayden Liberty Center." The show is free and open to the public and it begins at 7 p.m.

Sunday, October 30: A Halloween Spofest! Come celebrate Halloween through poetry by local poets from 7 to 9 p.m.

Friday, November 4: The Friday Night Films Series will feature a variety of silent comedies from Laurel & Hardy, Buster Keaton and more. Jeff Barnhart will share the backstory of the shows, some funny stories, and accompany the shows with live music. Cost is $10 per person. The LCAA encourage families to bring their children (up to age 12), who will be free with a paid adult.

Saturday, November 5: Gentleman Outlaw and America’s #1 Cowboy Country Artist, Royal Wade Kimes will be live onstage. The show begins at 7 p.m. and will be opened by Sedalia’s own, One Track Train. Cost is $10 per person.

Monday, November 14: The Church Basement Ladies are back in "Away in the Basement" where they will take us back to 1959 and the day of the Sunday School Christmas Program.

In the midst of holiday preparations and sprinklings of love in the air, the ladies in their witty, down-to-earth style are creating their own memories from Christmases past and present. Content to do things the way they have always been done yet pondering new ideas, the reality of everyday life hits home as they plan the Sunday School Christmas Program. As the children rehearse up in the sanctuary, several of the ladies of the kitchen are finishing up the treat bags filled with apples, peanuts and ribbon candy while the others put the final touches on the nativity pieces.

"Away in the Basement" is the perfect show for the whole family this Christmas season. There will be two shows in one day, at 2 and 7:30 p.m. Tickets are $30 each or $28 for groups of eight or more.
