Governor Mike Parson will join the Missouri State Fair Commission and Nucor Corporation for a ground-breaking ceremony for the new Director’s Pavilion currently under construction at the Missouri State Fairgrounds.

The ceremony, slated to begin at 11 a.m. Friday, will highlight the public-private partnership being leveraged in the Sedalia community to build the Director’s Pavilion, which will be completed before the 2020 Missouri State Fair.

The pavilion will measure 100-by-200 feet, and be constructed of metal, include a concrete floor, and create additional off-season event space, it was noted.

Scheduled to appear at the event will be Governor Mike Parson, Nucor Steel Sedalia Vice President and General Manager Kevin VanDeven, Missouri Department of Agriculture Director Chris Chinn, Missouri State Fair Chairman Kevin Roberts and Missouri State Fair Director Mark Wolfe.

Those attending the event should enter the fairgrounds at the Centennial Gate (Gate 12) off of Highway 65. The groundbreaking site will take place on the north side of the road.

The 2020 Missouri State Fair is scheduled for Aug. 13-23. For more information, go to mostatefair.com. A total of 337,112 individuals attended the 11-day Fair this past August.
