Week one of high school football kicks off tomorrow, and I'm excited to bring you the game of the week once again. We have a lot of great games in store for you this year, and tomorrow begins what looks to be another great year of high school football.

The Windsor Greyhounds will travel to Sweet Springs for an old I-70 Conference match-up. The new Greyhound trophy will be on display, and whoever wins will claim the trophy for the entire year with the bragging rights of the top Greyhound for the season.

Windsor has won the last five match-ups against Sweet Springs, but both teams will have a new quarterback this season. Taking the snaps for Windsor will be Trenton Johnson, who takes over after the graduation of Zane Anstine. For Sweet Springs, Jefferey Hall will be asked to move positions from wide receiver to quarterback. The Windsor Greyhounds unit averaged 26 points per game last year and have a lot of speed. Sweet Springs will rely mostly on the play of Jefferey Hall, running back Nathan Volgelsmeier and running to the side of all district lineman selection Heath Snider.

On defense, Windsor returns their second and third leading tacklers from last year in Luke Roberts and Phillip Kroh. On the defensive side for Sweet Springs, Jefferey Hall was the centerpiece last year he led the team with 117 tackles, 49 solo tackles and two sacks.

I am looking forward to checking out the new Greyhound trophy and calling the game tomorrow night. Game time has been pushed back to 8 p.m. as a precautionary to the extreme heat predicted for tomorrow's forecast. The pregame show will start at 7:45 p.m. with the kickoff at 8. Good luck to all of the area teams tomorrow night and throughout the season.
