Like pretty much everyone else in Nashville, country’s biggest stars are pulling hard for the Predators to win the Stanley Cup. In a video uploaded to the National Hockey League’s Twitter account, Brett Eldredge, Cole Swindell, Ryan Griffin and Jacob Davis shared their favorite “golden moments” from the team’s historic playoff run.
“When we clinched to go to the Stanley Cup -- I was there, and the electricity in that place was unlike anything I’ve seen in Nashville, ever," Eldredge shares. "It was just something I’ll never forget.”
Davis, a Nashville up-and-comer who’s toured with Kelsea Ballerini and is signed to Black River Entertainment, says that his favorite moment of the 2017 Stanley Cup Playoffs came when Predators center Colton Sissons’ hat trick helped the team push past the Anaheim Ducks to make it to the Stanley Cup Final. At present, the Preds trail the Pittsburgh Penguins in the Final series two games to one.
For Swindell, the best Stanley Cup Playoffs moment of 2017 came before the Nashville Predators took on the Chicago Blackhawks in Game 3 of the first round of the playoffs: Carrie Underwood sang the National Anthem, and Swindell "had chills the whole time."
"The intensity in the arena was unbelievable," Swindell adds. "I’ll never forget it.”
The city of Nashville has been all but consumed with the Preds run for the Stanley Cup in recent weeks. A host of country stars have sung the National Anthem before games throughout the playoffs — most recently, Martina McBride. Before Game 3 of the Stanley Cup Final -- Nashville's first home game of the series -- more than 50,000 people turned out to see Alan Jackson perform a free concert, then stuck around to watch the game outside of Bridgestone Arena.
On Monday night (June 5), the Predators will host the Penguins at Bridgestone Arena for Game 4 of their series. The game is set to begin at 8PM ET.
