Spots are running out, and I know you'll want to get involved in this one.The Missouri Department of Conservation is offering a Discover Nature camp for girls this June at the Heit's Point Lutheran Camp near Lincoln.

It sounds like a lot of fun, it's a great opportunity for some girls to get out there and try something different. A lot of times things like fishing, target shooting and water safety aren't really thought of something we should be teaching to our girls. But girls love nature just as much as the boys out there! And anything that gets a kid away from a screen for a second is a good thing, I say. Here's what the MDC says about the camp:

Experts provide a supportive learning environment and the chance to actively participate in activities such as fishing. One camp goal is to give participants the confidence to explore Missouri’s outdoors on their own. Campers will also become Missouri hunter education certified.

It's for girls aged 11-15, and the deadline is March 31. The camp itself will be held June 26th through the 28th. They're also going to need some chaperones, so this sounds like a great weekend for both Mom and Daughter to have some fun! But don't wait, this thing does fill up soon, and they will have a waiting list.

For any information or to get your application, contact Brian Bartlett at 816- 835-6087. You can probably get a few applications at your local Conservation Department as well.

Happy Camping!

Outdoorsily yours,

Behka
