Dierks Bentley has signed on to produce an upcoming comedy for Fox that will be set in a bar in Nashville.

Variety reports that Bentley has signed on to serve as executive producer of a new single-camera comedy series from writer and executive producer Jack Burditt, the creator of Last Man Standing whose other credits include Modern Family, Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt and The Mindy Project. Mary Hilliard Harrington from Red Light Management will serve as another executive producer alongside Bentley. Burditt has an overall deal with Twentieth Century Fox Television, which will produce the new show.

According to Variety, the proposed series will center around the singer-songwriters who frequent a Nashville bar, mingling their professional ambitions with their romantic lives. It is not yet titled, but Fox has committed to filming a pilot.

Bentley knows a little bit about the topic of Nashville bars; he owns a Nashville location of his Whiskey Row chain of bars, which is one of several celebrity-owned and operated bars and venues in Nashville.

Bentley released his most recent album, The Mountain, in June, scoring a No. 1 hit with its lead single, "Woman, Amen." The  42-year-old singer is nominated for Album of the Year at the upcoming 2018 CMA Awards, and he also scored a nod for Male Vocalist of the Year. He recently wrapped his Mountain High Tour by gifting openers Brothers Osborne, Lanco and DJ Aydam with their own Sea-Doos.
