Chris Stapleton Hits Platinum With ‘From a Room: Volume 1′
Chris Stapleton's acclaimed 2017 album From a Room: Volume 1 has reached a lofty milestone. It's now are now certified by Recording Industry Association of America as platinum status, meaning it has reached sales of 1 million via traditional and streaming sales.
That's not the only certification Stapleton has racked up to usher in the month of May. From a Room: Volume 2 has been certified gold (for sales of 500,000+); and his debut solo album, 2015's Traveller, is now certified triple platinum.
The albums were officially certified by the RIAA on April 26, but there's still more for Stapleton to add to his resume: his recent No. 1 single "Broken Halos" has also been certified platinum, joining three other of his tunes ("Parachute," "Fire Away," and "Nobody To Blame.")
Finally, his cover of "Tennessee Whiskey," which he performed with Justin Timberlake on the 2015 CMA Awards, has now been certified a whopping quadruple platinum.
Stapleton is doing nicely for himself, to say the least, having racked up these certs plus an arsenal of awards including seven Academy of Country Music Awards, another seven Country Music Association awards, and five Grammys.
He's also riding high on a personal level, having had twin baby boys born during the telecast of the 2018 ACM Awards April 15, which also happened to be his own birthday and the day that he won ACM Awards for both Album of the Year and Male Vocalist of the Year.
We'd say Stapleton doesn't have too much to ask for regarding the rest of 2018, but you never know. It's still pretty early in the year. We'll wait and see what other amazing feats he manages to pull off before December...for starters, he's nominated for five Billboard Music Awards, including Top Billboard 200 Artist, Top Selling Album, Top Country Album, Top Country Artist and Top Country Male Artist.
The 2018 Billboard Music Awards will air live from the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas on May 20; we expect he'll do quite well.
