Chris Stapleton struck gold on his duet with Man of the Woods pop icon Justin Timberlake, "Say Something," and the country superstar has dropped a hint that there is more collaborative goodness to come from the somewhat unlikely duo.

“We were talking about something earlier today,” Stapleton said backstage during CMA Fest 2018 on June 9 in Nashville. “We just have fun. It looks like the odd couple to most people, but we have a lot of the same musical influences: old R&B and soul music and things like that. We just enjoy hanging out.”

Stapleton and Timberlake brought down the house at the 2015 CMA Awards when they appeared together for the first time to perform "Tennessee Whiskey" and "Drink You Away." Since then, the artists have collaborated a number of times, including when Stapleton and his wife Morgane joined Timberlake for his headlining set at the Pilgrimage Festival in 2017.

Stapleton says that the pair haven't made any specific plans for an album or other sort of collaboration, but they are having a good time writing music and performing together.

“There will probably always be music being made, whether it’s writing or talking about music or playing music for each other," he adds. "We’re both at a phase in our life where we want to have fun playing music. That’s why it makes sense."

Stapleton and Timberlake have collaborated on several performances, but on the third evening of the 2018 CMA Fest, the country superstar capably held down the fort solo with a powerhouse performance, his set including hits such as "Broken Halos" and "Tennessee Whiskey."
