Celebrate An Old-Fashioned Christmas In Warrensburg! Are You Ready? Yes

We have all had our Thanksgiving feast.  We have experienced Black Friday.  The Christmas holiday is officially here.  For me, I can now hear Christmas music guilt free, and begin to think about all things Christmas.  You may want to make sure you make it to Warrensburg beginning Dec 2nd.  Especially if you want to check out an old-fashioned one.

You can take the Amtrak to Warrensburg, or make the drive.  Plenty of shopping options and eateries for sure and their annual Dickens Festival is always popular.  You can learn a bit more about that HERE.

The annual Lighted Holiday Christmas Parade is set for Friday Dec 2nd at 6pm.  Make sure to secure your spot downtown and make sure you are warm enough because the parade will last about 1 hour.  You will certainly see quite a lot of lit up vehicles.

The parade will end at the courthouse so gather there to see Santa and the lighting of the Mayor's Christmas tree.

We now move on to Saturday Dec 3rd.  We all know that Charles Dickens wrote the great story 'A Christmas Carol'.  From 10-3pm, the town will feel like you are in the 1840's.  It would not hurt you to arrive in town earlier.  Father Christmas will arrive at the train station about 9:30am. That begins the day.

There will be carolers throughout the town that will sing those Christmas classics and harmonies we love.  I don't suspect they would object if you sing along.

Perhaps a horse drawn carriage ride will be a nice experience for you? I have found them to be quite romantic.  You kids will enjoy them too.

You will want to shop, and eat.  Plenty of decorated windows will be available to see, roasted chestnuts to munch on and probably hot chocolate.

Now weather wise- it doesn't look like it will be too cold.  But I love hot soup anytime.  So make sure to bring $10 a person and from 11-1pm you can participate in the Tiny Tim Soup Stroll.  Plenty of local businesses will have their best soups to sample and you vote on your favorite.

If this weekend just won't fit into your schedule, there will be plenty of shops all decorated for the Christmas holiday to check out.
