CASA to Observe Sexual Assault Awareness Month With 5K Color Fun Run

April is Sexual Assault Awareness Month and CASA is hosting their fourth annual 5K Color Fun Run with the theme "We run so they don't have to."

CASA's 5K Color Fun Run will take place Saturday, April 6, on the south side of the Mathewson Exhibition Center parking lot. This is a 5K run/walk combined with between four and six color stations along the run/walk route. Participants are encouraged to wear a white shirt to show off the brilliant colors that will be encountered on the walk.

5K: Check-in is from 8 to 8:45 a.m. 5K begins at 9 a.m. Cash prize is awarded for overall 1st, 2nd, 3rd place.

New this year is a Kids Color Run for ages 12 and under. Check-in is at 10 a.m. The run begins at 10:30 a.m., for kids ages12 & under. Trophies will be awarded for overall 1st, 2nd, 3rd place.

Registration fees are $30 for adults, $15 each for the Kids Run, and $40 for a Virtual Run.

It should be noted that the Home & Garden Show will be going on in the Mathewson from 9-6 and features Casa's Art Exhibit along the upper level. CASA's Art Exhibit will feature community members' art work featuring all types of art embracing strength, success, courage, dreams, confidence and new starts.

The Color Fun Run is a 5k with certain points throughout the course where they will be doused with our non-toxic color powder. We encourage goggles and face masks for any little ones. For the older guys and gals & adults – CASA suggests sunglasses and a white t-shirt to catch all the bright colors.
