Carrie Underwood is officially back in the public eye, and she's putting it all out there after an accident that left her with scars on her face.

The superstar suffered a fall at home in November that required 40-50 stitches to her face, and she's been reticent to show her face via social media as she went through the recovery process. But she re-emerged in public on Sunday (April 15) when she performed her new single, "Cry Pretty," at the ACM Awards, and now that she's been out making the media rounds, she's apparently decided to resume her normal postings online, too. Underwood shared a close-up of her face when she was on hand to cheer on her husband, Nashville Predator Mike Fisher, in the Preds' third home game of the Staley Cup playoffs at Nashville's Bridgestone Arena on Friday (April 20).

If you look very closely in the photo above, you can see some minute scarring around Underwood's mouth, but it's certainly nothing major or even noticeable unless you look really hard and know what you're looking for. Otherwise, Underwood still looks as perfectly put together as she always has.

Carrie Looked Amazing at the ACM Awards!

"Ready to cheer on the boys tonight! Especially that #12! I hear he’s alright!" she writes, adding a smiling emoji.

In an interview with SiriusXM's the Highway on Thursday (April 19), Underwood explained that she tripped and fell after missing one step while walking her dogs. The fall also broke her wrist, which required surgery. She told iHeartRadio's Bobby Bones Show that same day that she's been "very fortunate in the healing process," adding that she covers some scarring with makeup. The hardest part wasn't facing her fans again, though she admits she was nervous before the ACM Awards on Sunday. She was more afraid of how her son, Isaiah, would react to her appearance.

“I was worried he’d be scared of me," she shares. “Now, if I put makeup on, he’s like, ‘Mommy, your boo-boo is all gone.”

Underwood will release a new album, also titled Cry Pretty, on Sept. 14.
