Burglary Suspect Kills Himself in Front of Officers
On Thursday night at 11:53 p.m., Sedalia Police responded to 9th and Madison on a report of a suspicious vehicle.
Upon arrival, officers located the vehicle in question, which was discovered to be the vehicle used in a recent burglary in Pettis County, where firearms were stolen from a residence.
Sedalia Officers and Pettis County Deputies attempted to talk to the man in the truck, but he refused to exit the vehicle.
The male in the truck then displayed a firearm and threatened suicide.
Officers and Deputies attempted to talk to the male to diffuse the situation, but the male eventually discharged the weapon, killing himself.
PCAD responded to the scene to attempt live-saving measures, but the male was unable to be resuscitated.
The Pettis County Coroner responded to the scene to assist with the investigation.
