
Burglary Suspect Arrested By SPD On Scene
On Friday at 1:42 a.m., Sedalia Police responded to a burglary in progress at 1919 South Harrison.
The victim reported that a subject was forcing entry into the front door of the residence.
Officers arrived on scene and located the suspect exiting the front door of the house.
The suspect told officers that she did not reside at the home, but was known to the resident.
The suspect was then detained, pending further investigation. The suspect had an open knife on her person at the time of her detention, according to the report.
After further investigation, it was determined that 24-year-old Morgan. R. Hawkins of Kansas City unlawfully entered the residence and assaulted the resident.

During the incident, Hawkins reportedly presented the knife to the victim in a threatening manner.
Hawkins was arrested and transported to the Pettis County Jail, where she was placed on a 24-hour hold, pending the formal filing of state charges for 1st degree burglary, felony 4th degree aggravated assault and armed criminal action.
