Brad Paisley Gives Intimate Acoustic Performance on ‘Today’ Due to Rain [Watch]
Fans going to see Brad Paisley perform at the Today Show’s outdoor concert series got a little wet the morning of Aug. 4, waiting for the artist to perform, but he made it up to them with a special performance.
Rain poured over the course of the morning and showed no signs of letting up. Paisley visited some of his drenched fans who had been moved inside, until eventually it was decided that the show must go on, and the whole thing was moved indoors.
What resulted was an intimate, stripped-down performance from the artist, who performed solo with just an acoustic guitar. Paisley played several of his hits, including (appropriately) “Today,” “Last Time for Everything,” “Mud on the Tires” and “I’m Gonna Miss Her (The Fishin’ Song).” Check out the video above to see the full performance of his latest single, “Last Time for Everything.”
Paisley’s most recent record, Love and War, released in April, and it’s a bit of an experimental album for the artist. It includes collaborations with unique artists like hip-hop producer Timbaland and rock legends John Fogerty and Mick Jagger. He also released a duet with Demi Lovato called “Without a Fight,” which didn’t end up on the album. “Today” was its first single and reached No. 3 on the Billboard Country Airplay chart.
The singer-songwriter has been on his Weekend Warriors Tour with Dustin Lynch, Chase Bryant, and Lindsay Ell — from which he and the others took a break by renting out a movie theater to watch Spider-Man: Homecoming together. Known for his wit and humor, Paisley will also soon be branching out into comedy with his own Netflix special, filmed at Nashville’s Zanies Comedy Club. It hits Netflix Aug. 15 and features a slew of comedians as special guests, as well as David Hasselhoff and Reba McEntire.
