Autumn = Apple Cider Donuts. These 5 Missouri Places May Have The Best
If I am being honest, there is one food item I have never been able to resist. That would be donuts. I prefer cake donuts, as opposed to a glazed one, and don't give me a fruit or cream filled one. But as a rule, if there are donuts, I am grabbing one. Now that we are into the season of Autumn, three words come to mind:
APPLE CIDER DONUTS!
My mother used to pick them up every fall, and we would devour them. Heck, I could eat the all year round but having them this time of year, they just seem to taste a little but better. Missouri has lots of locations to get them, these 5 could be the best.
Hickory Ridge Orchard
Hickory Ridge Orchard is a organic apple orchard outside the city limits of Mexico MO. In addition, they offer pumpkins, baked goods, and fall fun activities! You can really stock up here, and bring the family for the corn maze, hay-rack ride and more. Visit their website HERE and their Facebook page link is HERE. I have been told the cider you can get here as well as the donuts are must haves.
Thierbach Orchard's & Berry Farm - Marthasville
This place seems to be an annual pilgrimage for many people. Apple picking and getting your donuts, cider and plenty of great fruit. Family fun for sure. Click HERE for their website. Located near the beautiful Katy Trail in Marthasville, they are just over an hour west of St. Louis. You can get more info on their hours at their Facebook page HERE. I hear their peaches below are to die for.
Hurts Donuts - Branson Missouri
Man, do I need to visit Branson and do it sooner than later. So many attractions and now I can grab my apple cider donuts from Hurts Donuts. They are the rebel of all donuts! Each unique flavor, a love letter to their customers. Our donuts break all the rules with their uniform-free toppings and amped up flavors! They have several locations, but the Branson Facebook page is HERE.
Peters Orchard and Market - Waverly Missouri
Homegrown Apples, Peaches, Pumpkins and Squash. They also offer Apple Butter. Jams, Jellies, Preserves, Candies, Meat and Cheese Items and Snacks. You can get all of them as well as their apple cider donuts. Their website link is HERE. It is also pumpkin season there. As for the donuts...how good do these look? Facebook page link is HERE.
Dunn's Cider Mill - Belton Missouri
I wanted to recognize Dunn's Cider Mill as they have decided to retire after 45 seasons. By all accounts, this place was one of the best to get your apple cider donuts. They would sell out on many occasions. You can send them well wishes on their Facebook page HERE. You can see their 'Thank You' post below.
