A Knob Noster Woman Was Killed Saturday Morning in a One-Vehicle Accident

The Missouri State Highway Patrol reported a one-vehicle accident that resulted in the death of a Knob Noster woman, over the weekend.

The accident occurred around 4:00 Saturday morning in Johnson County on Highway 23, just north of NE 600 Road.

A 2012 Ford Fiesta was traveling northbound when it crossed the center of the roadway and began to slide. The Fiesta then slid back to the right, across the center, and then off the right side of the road. The undercarriage of the vehicle struck the ground, continuing north, and striking the ground a second time. While still heading north, the vehicle then struck the ground a third time. The front end of the Fiesta struck a large tree, then returned to the roadway, coming to rest, partially blocking the northbound lane of Highway 23.

The driver, 22-year old Breonia A. Shields, was pronounced dead at the scene by the Johnson County Coroner. The body was taken to Sweeney-Phillips and Holdren Funeral Home in Warrensburg.
