Windsor Man Killed in Bates County Crash

A Windsor man was killed in a one-vehicle accident that occurred Tuesday morning in Bates County.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol reports that an eastbound 2006 Saturn Ion was on Missouri 18, at Route BB (west junction), near Ballard, Mo., around 5:15 a.m., when the vehicle traveled off the roadway and struck a tree.

The driver, 44-year-old James A. Clason of Windsor, was pronounced deceased at 5:54 a.m., by Bates County Paramedic C. Stark. Clason was not wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash, according to the report.

The body was taken to the Bates County Coroner.

The Saturn was totaled.
