Over the weekend, I went to the Kansas City Zoo for the first time. It was fun and everything, but I have to admit, it was just a little bit disappointing. Don't get me wrong, it was still fun though. If I had never been to any zoo ever, I probably would have thought it was an amazing time. However, I've been to the Detroit, Toledo, and San Diego zoos, which are all tough to be compared too.

We did see some really good stuff there. The elephants, lions, and tigers were pretty outstanding. However, there were quite a few big time animals that we did NOT get to see, including giraffes and gorillas. They were indoors because it was a little too cold for them or something, and that's completely understandable. But if that's the case, why isn't there and indoor viewing area? Or how about posting a sign outside the zoo or online letting us know some the best animals won't be included with the price of admission. There seemed to be quite a lot of walking around the park without being able to see anything either.

A cool thing about the KC Zoo though is that it seems extremely kid friendly. There was a lot of kids stations with activities and fun learning experiences for them. While we were there they also did the "Boo at the Zoo" trick or treating for kids, and it seemed like they were having a ton of fun.

Although it was a little disappointing at times, we really did have a fun time at the zoo. Check out the pictures below!
