The Sedalia Fire Department responded to a fire at 208 Ohio St. in downtown Sedalia early this morning (Dec. 14). As of 8:00 a.m. this morning, fire crews were still working to put out the blaze.

We are less than 20 days away from Christmas, and the retail industry is still abuzz over much improved sales over 2011. This week I visited several stores to get my Christmas shopping started. All of the store employees I talked to all said business was staying brisk this year. It got me to thinking; when you go holiday shopping, what city do you like to go shopping in?
With the Locash Cowboys coming to Sedalia on Dec. 15, Chris took some time out to talk with me about the show. As we spoke, he covered some of what the band has done in the past year and revealed what 2013 has in store for them.

The Community Santa program in Sedalia has reached its last week of registering families that are in need of Christmas assistance. This program benefits not only families in need, but the elderly and handicapped as well. It works with the other social services agencies in Pettis County and all donations are used to help as many as possible.
