Just after 10:00 Tuesday morning (April 16), the Sedalia Fire Department and the Sedalia Police responded to a house fire at the corner of Pettis and Lamine on Sedalia’s north side.
Sammy Kershaw's home in Lafayette, La. was damaged in a fire that broke out in the kitchen on Thursday (April 4). The property sustained heavy smoke damage, but thankfully, no one was injured in the blaze.

Crews have blocked off South Ohio Avenue between 2nd Street and southbound to Gazebo Park in downtown Sedalia in preparation to demolish several buildings damaged by a fire on Dec. 14, 2012. The demolitions comes at the recommendation of an engineer who deemed the buildings unstable and dangerous.
