Three well-known celebrities have joined the cast of a movie based on Dolly Parton’s childhood. Two are TV actors, but singer Jennifer Nettles is the third, and she's slotted to portray Parton’s mother.
Twenty-six years ago today (Aug. 5, 1989), Dolly Parton earned her 16th No. 1 hit with her single "Why'd You Come in Here Lookin' Like That." The song was the debut single from her gold-selling 1989 White Limozeen album, which was produced by Ricky Skaggs.
Country superstar Dolly Parton gave a surprise bigger than her hair to young actress Alyvia Lind on Monday (July 13), when she personally offered the youngster the role of Dolly (as a child) in the upcoming original movie about her life, Coat of Many Colors.
We already know that the genre's biggest stars hang out together, like Luke Bryan and Jason Aldean, who go fishing regularly. But in addition to their peers, country artists also spend time with celebrities from other walks, like acting.
Dolly Parton called Gage Blackwell “Gage Rogers” because she thought the young boy with Down syndrome kept up with her just as well as Kenny did. Together, the famous country legend and the aspiring country singer did their best versions of three classic country songs.
