The 2013 Billboard Music Awards, which aired live from the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada on Sunday night (May 19), brought out the biggest singing stars from all genres -- including country.
Vegas will once again be going country, but this time it's for the 2013 Billboard Music Awards. The superstar-filled event will be bursting at the seams with country artists this year -- it's just been announced that Jennifer Nettles of Sugarland, Shania Twain and others will present awards during the event.
The 2013 Billboard Music Award nominations have been revealed and Taylor Swift shares the lead as a finalist in 11 categories for the May 19 awards show. The 'Red' album-maker is up for a host of country awards, but also all-genre honors like Top Female Artist, Top Billboard 200 Album ('Red') and the night's big prize, Top Artist.
On Sunday night, Taylor Swift was officially crowned with one of the most prestigious nods given at the 2012 Billboard Music Awards: Woman of the Year. Following a strong introduction by Kris Kristofferson — who called her “one of the most successful artists in country music” — Swift got a multi-minute reel recapping all of the heights she’s reached in her relatively short career.
