July 3, 2012 Setting off fireworks is illegal within the city limits of Sedalia, and the Pettis County Sheriff's Office and Fire Departments urge you not to set off your own fireworks this 4th of July. They suggest you attend the public display at the Missouri State Fairgrounds instead. That's good advice. And like all good pieces of advice, there will be people that won't follow it. Here are a few tips so you can be as safe as possible should you decide your own display is the way to go.
Country music superstar Alan Jackson will help some deserving military families celebrate July 4th a little bit early this year. According to a post on Jackson’s website, the singer is slated to perform this coming Saturday (June 30) at Fort Sill, Okla. to kick off the military installation’s patriotic festivities.
