SFCC To Add Four More Sports Programs

After a special meeting Tuesday afternoon by the State Fair Community College Board of Trustees, it was announced in a press release that four more sports programs: baseball, softball and men's and women's soccer will be added in the 2016-2017 academic year. All four sports programs will be played at NJCAA Division I levels. According to Darren Pannier, SFCC Athletic Director, men's and women's soccer is slated to begin in the fall of 2016 and baseball and softball in the spring of 2017. Baseball will be played at Liberty Baseball Stadium and the softball team will play at Richard Vansell Field in Liberty Park. SFCC's soccer teams will play on the existing soccer field which will be redeveloped.

Six full scholarships (tuition and fees only; no housing) will be offered for each of the four sports. Coaching positions will be posted through normal hiring procedures with a July 1, 2016, start date.
