Sedalia Police Reports for September 25, 2023

Last Tuesday afternoon, Officers were dispatched to the Wal Mart store, 3201 West Broadway Boulevard in reference to a theft. The suspect was stopped by Asset Protection after passing the last point of sale with $30.01 worth of unpaid items. The business wished to prosecute. Madison P. Gardner, 21, of Sedalia, was issued a citation for Stealing.

Sunday night, Officers conducted a traffic stop in the area of West Broadway Boulevard and South Limit Avenue because the vehicle’s registration was expired. During the course of the investigation, it was revealed the driver had a suspended driver’s license. Nancy Ann Scriber, 47, of Sedalia, was arrested for Driving While Suspended. Scriber was then released with a summons.

Sedalia Police conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle in the area of South Missouri Avenue and West 3rd Street on the morning of September 23rd because it had overly tinted windows. During the investigation, it was determined the driver was intoxicated. The driver was arrested, and transported to the BRHC where a blood draw was conducted. Ricardo Miguel Montoya George, 42, of Sedalia, was booked and released on charges of Driving While Intoxicated (Prior Offender).

Sunday evening, Officers were dispatched to the area of West Broadway Boulevard and Winchester Drive to investigate an accident that had occurred. While on scene, Officers discovered one of the drivers had a suspended driver’s license. After the scene was cleared, the driver was arrested. Rigoberto Huerta, 38, of Sedalia, was arrested for Driving while Suspended and No Proof of Insurance. Huerta was transported to the Sedalia police Department to be booked and released with a summons.

Officers were dispatched to the 900 block of Quincy Avenue early Monday morning. Upon arrival, Officers were able to obtain enough information to issue a summons to court for property damage. Josephine Cordelia Marek, 20, of Sedalia, was issued a summons for Destruction of Non City Property. Officers generated a report over the incident.

Sunday afternoon, Officers met with a subject in the lobby of the Police Department who was turning in two bicycles he had found over the course of a week. The bicycles were placed into evidence for safekeeping.

Saturday afternoon, Officers were dispatched to the intersection of East Pettis Street and North Washington Avenue for a subject check. The subject was found to have an active warrant for her arrest for Failure to Appear from 2022 over a charge of Operating a Motor Vehicle Without Maintaining Financial Responsibility. Bridget Marie Pardee, 40, Homeless, was arrested and transported to the Pettis County Jail pending a cash only bond of $50.00.

Sedalia Police, Sedalia Fire, and the Pettis County Ambulance District were dispatched to the 1000 block of State Fair Boulevard in reference to a suicide attempt Saturday evening. A subject had intentionally taken pills. The subject was transported by PCAD to the BRHC.

Officers received a dispatch on Friday in reference to a report of property damage in the 1800 block of South Grand Avenue. Officers spoke with the caller, who reported a subject had been sitting on his porch, looking in windows, and damaged the residence. The caller estimated the damage to amount to about $100.00. The subject was located and arrested the following evening. Caleb Paul Bartlett, 27, of Sedalia, was arrested for Property Damage in the 2nd Degree and Trespassing in the 2nd Degree. Bartlett was transported to the Pettis County Jail to be placed on a 24-hour hold.

Early Saturday morning, emergency medical personnel responded to the area of the 1700 block of South Vermont Avenue for a medical emergency. Upon arrival, the SFD and PCAD began assisting the downed subject. Later in the morning, the Sedalia Police Department was called to send an Officer to the scene. After a short time, the patient passed away of natural causes. Officers generated a report over the incident.

Saturday morning, Richard Heinaman came to the lobby of the Police Department to turn in a license plate he found in the 1200 block of East 16th Street. The license plate was placed into evidence for safe keeping.

Sedalia Fire, the Pettis County Ambulance District, and Sedalia Police were dispatched to the 2700 block of South Ohio Avenue Saturday morning in reference to a medical call. Life-saving procedures were attempted, but ultimately the subject was pronounced deceased.

Friday evening, Officers were dispatched to the 1000 block of East 7th Street in reference to a disturbance. While investigating the disturbance, another subject showed up, and a second disturbance ensued. The suspect was arrested for Aggravated Domestic Assault in the 4th Degree. Caine Elijah Jackson, 23, of Sedalia, was transported to the Pettis County Jail to be placed on a 24-hour hold pending charges.

Officers were dispatched to the area of East 2nd Street and South Washington Avenue Friday evening in reference to stolen property. The caller said their phone had been stolen on September 19th, and they were following the suspect, who had the phone. During the investigation, the property was recovered and the suspect was arrested. Hakeem Stephon Dickson, 26, of Sedalia, was arrested for Stealing. Dickson was transported to the Pettis County Jail to be placed on a 24-hour hold.

Friday afternoon, Officers were approached by other drivers complaining that a black Ford F-150 had passed a school bus while the stop sign was out. They pointed out the vehicle, and Officers were able to identify the truck and the driver. Officers told the driver, who was in the school pick up line at Parkview Elementary, to meet them in the adjacent parking lot after picking up her children. Officers met with the driver and after checking her driver’s license, discovered she had a warrant for her arrest. Morgan Taylor Foote, 25, of Sedalia, was arrested for Failure to Appear on original charges of Operating a Motor Vehicle Without Maintaining Financial Responsibility. Foote was issued a citation for the school bus traffic violation. Foote was transported to the Pettis County Jail pending a cash only bond of $147.00.

Last Tuesday afternoon, an Officer was dispatched to the lobby of the Police Department in reference to a violation of a protection order. The victim stated someone they had protection order against had messaged and called them. State charges of Violation of an Order of Protection were submitted to the prosecutor.
