Sedalia Police Reports for July 27, 2023

Sunday night, Officers responded to the Wal Mart store, 3201 West Broadway Boulevard, for a report of theft. The complainant reported that a suspect did a “push out” of several hundred dollars’ worth of merchandise from the store earlier that afternoon. The incident was recorded on surveillance video.

Early Thursday morning, Officers conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle operating with no headlights on in the 2900 block of West Broadway Boulevard. After stopping the vehicle, Officers discovered the driver did not have a license to operate a motor vehicle. Asakawa Kentner Jessy, 36, of Sedalia, was arrested for a charge of No Operator’s License. Jessy was transported to the Police Department where he was fingerprinted and released with a citation.

Sedalia Police stopped a car in the area of West Broadway Boulevard and South Warren Avenue early Monday morning because it was travelling outside of its lane, and it had failed to dim its high beams. An investigation was completed, and the driver was arrested for Driving While Intoxicated by drugs. Jay Quentin Cobb, 18, of Independence, was arrested for Driving While Intoxicated (Drugs)and transported to the Pettis County Jail. Cobb was booked and released.

Officers responded to the Bothwell Regional Health Center, 601 East 14th Street Sunday night to take a report of harassment. The subject reportedly made a statement to an employee the night before about harming them. The suspect is known, and charges are being requested for Harassment in the 2nd Degree.

Wednesday morning, Officers were dispatched to the Probation and Parole Office, 205 Thompson Road for a report of a subject present with a warrant for their arrest. Officers confirmed the subjects’ identity, and determined he did have a valid warrant from Randolph County. Floyd Ray Snow Jr., 45, of Sedalia, was arrested for his Probation Violation warrant on charges of felony Driving While Revoked and felony Driving While Intoxicated (Persistent Offender). Snow was transported to the Pettis County Jail with no bond.

Sedalia Police took a burglary report in the 900 block of South Kentucky Avenue Wednesday morning. The victims reported that someone broke into their apartment and stole numerous items. The value of the theft was reportedly in excess of $10,000.

On the afternoon of July 11th, Officers met with a subject who wished to turn over drug paraphernalia they had found. The paraphernalia was turned in to the Police Department and seized for destruction.
