Wednesday evening, an Officer responded to the 800 block of South Limit for a report of a hit and run accident. Jessica Miranda reported that her vehicle had been struck by an unknown vehicle while it was parked, unoccupied, in the parking lot of a local business. Video evidence of the incident is being sought.

Sedalia Police arrested a subject at the Police Department Wednesday morning in regards to an ongoing investigation of a shooting that occurred on August 18th, 2023. Nathaniel Austin Shipman, 28, of Sedalia, was transported to the Pettis County Jail to be booked on charges* of felony Assault in the 2nd Degree, Armed Criminal Action, felony Unlawful Use of a Weapon (Exhibiting), and Property Damage in the 1st Degree. Shipman was placed on a 24 hour hold at the Pettis County Jail. Bond was set at $150,000 cash or surety.


 

On the morning of August 20th, Officers responded to the Sedalia Police Department lobby in reference to an internet fraud report. Officers spoke with the reporting party, Emily Dake. Dake stated her bank account was accessed, and multiple purchases were made through Microsoft Xbox. The suspect has not been identified at this time.
