Rob’s Restaurant Reviews: Oklahoma Joe’s [PHOTOS]

For my brother's first time eating at Kansas City, I wanted to make sure he got the best BBQ experience possible. Well, we found it at Oklahoma Joe's.

Kansas City is arguably the BBQ capital of the world, but we wanted the best of the best. So I did my research online and asked everyone I know: what's the best place to get Kansas City Barbecue? A few people said Gates was good, a few said Zarda's, but one name stood out above all the others: Oklahoma Joe's. So that's where we went.

After our long day at World of Fun, we followed our directions we had printed to the address of Oklahoma Joe's. No restaurant was there. We doubled back, and saw a huge line of people standing outside of a gas station. That's when we realized that Oklahoma Joe's is actually INSIDE of a gas station.

We stood in line for right around an hour, but it didn't seem like a long wait. We had a blast talking with a lot of cool people in line, reading all the articles on the wall and browsing through all the unique barbecue sauces and seasoning in the gas stations.

Finally, we got to order. On the recommendation of everyone, we each got a famous Z-Man sandwich: beef brisket, provolone cheese, BBQ sauce and two onion rings on a kaiser roll. We split a slab of ribs as well.

It lived up to the hype and more. Steve, Justin and myself all agreed that the Z-Man was the best sandwich we've ever eaten. The ribs were the most tender I've ever had. I will go on record of saying that Oklahoma Joe's is not only the best BBQ in Kansas City, but the entire world. Check out the pictures below.
