RaeLynn Gets Meaningful New Tattoo
RaeLynn recently visited a tattoo shop and got her very first ink! The 20-year-old now sports a religious tattoo on her left arm.
RaeLynn decided that she was ready for some body art, even if her Southern mama wasn't too thrilled about it. Her tattoo, which reads "Daughter of the King," is to remind the singer that God is always with her.
The 'God Made Girls' hitmaker was a thoughtful daughter and tried to prep her mom for it, even inviting her along to watch.
"So, I’ve been preparing my mom for this tattoo for a while," RaeLynn tells Country Weekly. "I told my mom, ‘I want you to go with me to get the tattoo.'" Her mom still wasn't too keen on the idea, but she agreed to go along for the ride.
“She said, ‘I do not want you to get that tattoo, but I will go with you'," RaeLynn explains. “And then I got to really thinking about it and I thought my mom and her Southern butt is not going to be able sit there and watch them ink me up and stay calm. She will drag my butt out of there. I just know her."
Continues the singer, "So, I called the tattoo place I wanted to go to and I was like, ‘Hey, that appointment that I had set for Thursday, is there any way you could fit me in today? Because my mom is coming in tonight and I'd rather ask for forgiveness than permission.’ And they were like, ‘Yeah, I can fit you in in 30 minutes.'"
Despite looking sweet, RaeLynn is obviously pretty tough. She says the arm ink didn't even really hurt! "It more stung than hurt. I was preparing myself for the worst," she admits. "He told me he was surprised I didn’t cry. And I told him I’m tough as nails."
