Pettis County Sheriff’s Reports for June 20, 2023

Early Monday morning, Deputies attempted a traffic stop on a vehicle that was speeding, and was also failing to maintain its lane. The vehicle refused to stop, leading Deputies on a brief pursuit. The subject eventually stopped on the wrong side of the roadway. An address where the stop took place was not included in the report. After an investigation, the driver, Michael Yac Rosales, 23, of Sedalia, was found to have a blood alcohol content higher than the legal limit, and no driver’s license. Yac Rosales was placed under arrest and transported to the Pettis County Jail. There, he was placed on a 24-hour hold pending charges of Resisting Arrest by Fleeing, Driving While Intoxicated, and Operating a Motor Vehicle Without a Valid License.

Pettis County Deputies conducted a traffic stop in the 2500 block of West Broadway Boulevard Sunday morning on a vehicle that was travelling outside of its lane. The driver, Christopher Scott Hamblin, 50, of Kansas City, was found to be driving without a valid license. Hamblin also had two active Failure to Appear warrants from 2017 out of Lee’s Summit on original charges of Expired Plates and Operating a Motor Vehicle Without Maintaining Financial Responsibility. Hamblin was placed under arrest and transported to the Pettis County Jail. Jail Staff located a crystal-like substance in Hamblin’s property that tested positive for Methamphetamine. Hamblin was placed on a 24-hour hold pending an additional charge so Possession of a Controlled Substance.

Saturday evening, Deputies conducted a traffic stop in the area of East Broadway Boulevard and South Marvin Avenue. The vehicle was stopped because it did not have a front license plate. During the stop, the driver was placed under arrest. Leslie Eugene Harrell, 45, of Sedalia, was found to have a suspended driver’s license. Harrell was booked and released on a charge of Driving While Suspended. Harrell also had a Failure to Appear warrant out of Cole County from 2022 on original charges of Possession of Drug Paraphernalia with bond set at $500 cash or surety.

Deputies observed a vehicle travelling at a high rate of speed Friday night west of Hwy Y near Hedge Apple Drive. As the Deputy attempted to conduct a traffic stop of the vehicle, it turned onto Timber Ridge drive. The vehicle then turned its lights off and attempted to flee from Deputies. After a pursuit around Timber Ridge Drive, the subject was found trying to conceal his vehicle in his garage. Zachary Tyler Pulliam, 23, of Sedalia, was placed under arrest. Pulliam was transported to the Pettis County Jail to be placed on a 24-hour hold pending charges of Resisting Arrest by Fleeing (Creating a Substantial Risk to the Public).
