Say Hello To West Central Missouri’s Newest Radio Station

I arrived in Sedalia a couple of days after KSDL 92.3 became "Sedalia's Greatest Hits" Awesome 92.3. I mention this because, over the past four years, we've received feedback about Awesome 92.3. A lot of it was along the lines of people enjoying the music we were playing, but missing some of the newer music the station had previously played.

In addition to you telling us you missed some of the newer music, we also noticed if you wanted to hear newer music on the radio in Sedalia, Knob Noster, Warrensburg, or across West Central Missouri you had to listen to a station out of Columbia or Kansas City to hear those songs. Depending on where you are, and which way the wind is blowing, one of those signals can be easy or difficult to dial in.

We're fixing that as we head into 2024. I want to invite you to listen to the new Mix 92.3 playing the best variety of music from the 80s, 90s, and Now. In fact, that's our slogan "80s, 90s, & Now"!

Mix 92.3 will play a lot of the tunes you heard on Awesome 92.3, especially the 80s stuff and iconic songs, but you'll also find newer artists in our music mix.

Some of the newer artists you'll be hearing include Bruno Mars, Meghan Trainor, 21 Pilots, John Legend, The Weeknd, Sia, The Jonas Brothers, Harry Styles, Halsey, Chainsmokers, and Taylor Swift. If you're a 90s/2000s music junkie you'll love The Goo Goo Dolls, Maroon 5, Alanis, No Doubt, N'Sync, Green Day, and Train to name some of that era's artists.

The best part, Behka and I will still be entertaining you on the radio every weekday. Behka will be moving from her morning show and hanging out with you during your workday from 10:00 AM - 3:00 PM, and I'll still be wrapping up your workday and getting you home every afternoon from 3:00 PM - 7:00 PM.  Throwback Nation and Tony Lorino will still be hanging out and playing the best Throwbacks every Saturday and Sunday night.

Joining our staff will be The Anna & Raven Morning Show. Anna's a frenzied mom of two girls who loves Zumba, but also Outback Steakhouse. While Raven is a married forty-something with too many pets for the house. Sure, he can fix stuff, but he probably broke it to start with. Together they'll get you to work with a humorous look at parenting, relationships, and pop culture. Plus, if you can beat Raven at trivia you might be able to win some cool stuff.

At night, Monday - Friday, we're welcoming The John Tesh Radio Show to Mix 92.3 Wrap up your day with music and intelligence for your life between 7:00 PM - 12:00 Midnight. John has a knack for presenting bits of information that can help you live a healthier, happier, more productive life. It's a fun show, and if you're not careful you might learn something too.

So now I've let the cat out of the bag, as one might say. That's ok, cause I think the logo, the station name, and our new website mymix923.com kind of gave it away. Mix 92.3 will officially get underway at midnight on Tuesday, December 26, 2023.
