Little Big Town’s ‘Pontoon’ Hits Platinum Certification

As anticipated, Little Big Town‘s summertime anthem, ‘Pontoon,’ has officially been certified platinum for digital downloads exceeding one million copies sold. The tune was an instant smash for the four-piece group following its release, and it has also become the highest-charting single of their career.
‘Pontoon’ is the lead single from the band’s highly-anticipated fifth studio album, ‘Tornado,’ set to hit stores on Sept. 11. The track, penned by Luke Laird, Natalie Hemby and Barry Dean, is Little Big Town’s fastest selling-single to date and has spent four weeks as a No. 1 on the country digital download chart.
To support the exciting release of the new album project, LBT will make a flurry of appearances on major television networks, including ABC’s ‘Good Morning America’ (Sept. 10) and ‘The Ellen DeGeneres Show’ (Sept. 13). Also look for the band on the ABC Television Special ‘CMA Music Festival: Country’s Night to Rock’ (Sept. 17).
