Efforts to enhance Pertle Springs as a high-quality recreational area that serves both the Warrensburg and campus community are receiving a financial boost thanks to a gift to the University of Central Missouri. The announcement of the gift from Audrey J. Walton, Versailles, through the UCM Foundation took place yesterday in a press conference at the golf course.

The construction, or final phase of the project, is expected to get underway in spring 2015. Facilities such as the clubhouse will remain open, but the course will close shortly after the first of the new year, according to Hughes, and will re-open sometime in early fall 2015, depending on the weather.  Once work is complete, the course is not expected to need major renovations for another 30 years or more.
