The Sedalia Kiwanis Club will be partnering with several area schools to help the Shoeman Water Project bring clean water to people in South and Central America. The Shoeman Water Project collects new and used shoes and exports them to street vendors in places like Haiti and South America, providing affordable shoes and jobs for those communities. The money raised from the sale these shoes is used for well drilling, water purification systems and training programs to bring clean water to those who thirst.

Boxes for collections will be placed at those buildings and the school counselors at Washington and Horace Mann Elementary will be collecting shoes during that time period. There will also be a collection point at Sacred Heart School as well as the George Thomlinson Farmers Insurance office located at 220 West 6th Street here in Sedalia.
