Ellis Fischel Cancer Center physicians and staff invite cancer survivors to celebrate National Cancer Survivors’ Day from 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, June 5, at the MU Women’s and Children’s Hospital Health Pavilion at 402 Keene St. in Columbia.

The free event will feature dinner and a motivational presentation by Kim Becking, a breast cancer survivor and author of the book Nordie's at Noon: The Personal Stories of Four Women “Too Young” for Breast Cancer.   “National Cancer Survivors’ Day is an annual, worldwide celebration of life,” said Kristen Fritschie, guest services coordinator at Ellis Fischel. “This symbolic event is meant to show the world that life after a cancer diagnosis can be meaningful and productive.”  Reservations for the event are required.
