The Performing Arts Series at the University of Central Missouri and the Warrensburg Ministerial Association will host the Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Community Praise and Worship Service at 6:30 p.m. Monday, Jan. 19, in Hendricks Hall on the UCM campus.

The event is part of UCM’s 2015 Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Celebration, combining the traditional ecumenical worship service and the gospel concert.

The Rev. Bob Denham of the LIFE Church of the Nazarene will serve as master of ceremonies, with the Rev. Heather Jepsen of the First Presbyterian Church as the featured speaker. Music will be provided by the Jesus Saves Pentecostal Church of God Sanctuary Choir, the First United Methodist Church Junior Praise Band and UCM’s ABC Gospel Choir.

Special music will be presented by soloists Shirley Briscoe of Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church and Stephanie Flores of First Baptist Church of Warrensburg.

The Warrensburg Ministerial Association will also present its MLK Scholarships.

The event is free and the public is invited to attend.
