Additional Information

The historic Katy Depot will help Sedalians take a step back in time with a new series of presentations on the first Friday of each month this year. Professional actors will portray a wide range of historic figures, from presidents to entrepreneurs.  The fun and educational programs will kick off with “Thomas Jefferson” on April 4. The evening begins with Happy Hour refreshments and appetizers at 5:30, and the program at 6 p.m. Patrick Lee, a professional speaker, writer, actor and entertainer for more than 20 years, will portray Founding Father and our third president, Thomas Jefferson. Jefferson did most of the writing on the Declaration of Independence, bought the Louisiana Territory from France, and sent Lewis and Clark to explore it. Jefferson lived from 1743 to 1826, and spent most of his life as an avid learner of science, languages and religion.

The First Friday evenings are free and open to the public. Seating is limited, so reservations are recommended. Call the Depot Store at 660-826-2932 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday.

The First Friday programs are sponsored by Joe Fischer, a board member of the Sedalia Heritage Foundation, which oversees the use of the Katy Depot, is proud to host these events. Come join the fun and experience a memorable evening.
