Eric Church has new music to share! The country star has announced the forthcoming release of a new album, Desperate Man, and a single of the same name.

During a livestream on Thursday morning (July 12), Church revealed his new music news. Desperate Man is due out on Oct. 5, and a single of the same name -- co-written with Ray Wylie Hubbard and produced by Jay Joyce -- is available for Church Choir fan club members to hear now. A press release reports that it will drop to the general public on Friday (July 13). Rolling Stone reports that the song is "a Southern rock anthem;" lyrics include "But, hey, what can I say? / I'm a desperate man."

"The album is done," Church revealed during his brief livestream, "and we are back."

When Church releases Desperate Man this fall, Church Choir members will automatically receive the record as part of their membership.

Church began teasing his big announcement on Tuesday (July 10), uploading a mysterious countdown on Facebook, Instagram and Twitter. Church's official website also featured a countdown clock to that same time.

Church last released new music in 2015. On Nov. 4 of that year, he surprise-released Mr. Misunderstood, secretly sending it out to his Church Choir members without any sort of announcement beforehand. The record has been certified platinum and spawned four No. 1 singles.

Church's most recent single, "Round Here Buzz," went to radio in April of 2017. He spent much of 2017 on the road on his Holdin' My Own Tour. This year, he's been playing festival dates here and there; fans can visit EricChurch.com for a list of upcoming dates.
