Remembering Robin Williams: The Actor We All Felt We Knew

“Can you believe Popeye is played by the guy who plays Mork?” These words from my mother blew my seven-year-old mind. That's my intro to a piece I don’t know how to write and, honestly, probably shouldn’t be writing so soon after learning about Robin Williams’ death. I only had one encounter with Williams professionally – an interview promoting ‘Happy Feet 2,’ of all things – yet there are tears coming down my face as I type this for what is essentially a stranger. Even though he’s not a stranger. Everyone knew him. This is everyone’s loss.

RIP Robin Williams: A Look Back at the Late Actor’s Best Work

Robin Williams' death is shocking and heartbreaking and touches us in a way usually reserved for close friends. Maybe that's because we're of a generation that grew up on Robin Williams. As director Garry Marshall, who first cast Williams in 'Happy Days' and later 'Mork and Mindy,' said today, "He could make everybody happy but himself."

He made everyone happy and in that spirit, we'd like to celebrate his work, and we asked a few of our writers to look back at their favorite moments of his career.

‘Ghostbusters 3′: Here’s Who We Think Should Star in a Female Version

Over the weekend it was announced that Paul Feig is in negotiations to direct an all-female version of ‘Ghostbusters 3,’ which is the first bit of news to get us seriously interested since Phil Lord and Chris Miller’s names were briefly attached earlier this year. Feig, who also brought us ‘Bridesmaids’ and ‘The Heat,’ has given us some hilarious and truly great female-driven films. Reel Women: ‘Guardians of the Galaxy’ Leaves Us Wanting More Gamora

When you head to the theater to see 'Guardians of the Galaxy' this weekend, you'll undoubtedly walk out with a favorite character: the surprisingly lovable Groot, the foul-mouthed Rocket Raccoon, the charismatic Star-Lord, the tough but hilarious Drax -- or maybe you'll fall in love with Zoe Saldana's green-skinned, badass Gamora. With all that screen time shared between so many heroes (and villains, and peripheral characters), it'll leave you wanting to see more of Gamora and her talents. Not that that's a bad thing.

‘Legend of Korra’ Interview: Janet Varney and David Faustino Tease a “Ridiculous” Season Finale and Book 4

'The Legend of Korra' has gone through a lot of changes, which coincidentally happens to be the subtitle for Book 3 -- as Korra adjusts to a world that lives in tandem with the spirits and Team Avatar looks to recruit more Airbenders, four new villains have emerged, and all the remaining episodes have ditched the TV medium to be aired online at Nick.com.

Following the 'Legend of Korra' panel at Comic-Con 2014, we caught up with the faces (or, rather, the voices) of this series, Janet Varney (Korra) and David Faustino (Mako), to get a better idea of how these changes will impact the rest of the season, as well as the already-filmed Book 4.
