The Le Leche League will have their next meeting on January 7 at 6:30 at the First United Methodist Church Celebration Center. The Le Leche League of Sedalia has an important mission for families, and particularly for Mothers. They believe that mothering through breastfeeding is the most natural and effective way of understanding and satisfying the needs of the baby, and their next meeting on Jan. 7 offers some great insight into that.
Kiwanis tries to serve children and youth using two approaches. One attempts to improve the quality of life directly through activities promoting health, education, etc. The other tries to encourage leadership and service among youth. They're going to be funding those goals with a great event coming up: their Trivia Night.
I don't know about you guys, but for me, Christmas means family and parties. Well, not all ragers, don't get me wrong. But getting together with some folks, eatin' some food, and tellin' tales of the old days.
This holiday season is full of merriment and joy for our little ones, and sometimes we just want them to enjoy some time thinking about their Christmas dreams. You know that means that they've got to have some Santa time, right? So, where will Santa be visiting around town?
Tis the season; the season for Santa! I know that a lot of you have some fond memories and traditions that good ol' St Nick has been incredibly involved in this time of year. Santa has always been a symbol of giving and helping out others, and believe me when I say that he practices what he preaches.
If there's one thing I'm sure we've all seen driving around town, it's the good old Christmas lights. It seems like some people are ready to get their lights up as soon as Halloween! But now it's December, and that means that everybody's gonna be getting theirs up soon. So why not join in on a little friendly competition?
We here in Pettis County are a diverse group, living in all sorts of different situations. A 10-year-old north Texas girl named Jordyn Self accidentally found her Christmas present recently, which is a collectible American Girl doll called 'Saige.' What she decided to do with it is pretty incredible for a young kid.
The Loyal Rebekah Lodge #260 is an international service-oriented organization and a branch of the Independent Order of Odd Fellows. It was initially designed as the female auxiliary of the IOOF, but now allows both female and male members. The general duties of the members of this unit are, “To live peaceably, do good unto all, as we have opportunity and especially to obey the Golden Rule, Whatsoever ye would that others should do unto you, do ye even so unto them.” They're having a great event this week that definitely should not be missed.
