The Sedalia-Pettis County United Way will hold its second annual Day of Caring on Oct. 22, 2016. The inaugural event in 2015 experienced 155 volunteers completing 16 projects that ranged from the construction of a wheelchair ramp, hauling away junk, yard work to painting.
The Boys & Girls Clubs of West Central Missouri is hoping area residents will once again “glow their support” during the third annual 5K Glow Run/Walk, to be held June 10 on the State Fair Community College campus.
Several months' worth of work came to fruition Wednesday as Boys & Girls Clubs of West Central Missouri Smithton Site member Thomas Evans threw a carnival for his fellow Club members. The event was for Evans’ Eagle Scout project for Boy Scout Troop 300 and despite the threat of rain, went off without a hitch.
