Woman Arrested After Shot Fired in Sedalia
A 26-year-old woman was arrested on Saturday after police responded to the 1900 block of S. Park and a shot was fired.
Police were called to the residence around 2 a.m. A caller told police that his wife had locked him out of the residence and wouldn't let him back in. Shortly after officers arrived, a shot reportedly rang out. The caller was placed in the back of a patrol vehicle and moved from the area.
Sedalia officers, Pettis County deputies and Missouri State Highway Patrol troopers surrounded the house. Verbal commands were given, but ignored. The suspect came out after Sedalia Dispatch contacted her by phone. Jessie J. Cornwell was arrested on charges of unlawful use of a weapon and armed criminal action. She was taken to the Pettis County Jail.
