Warrensburg Police Reports for September 3, 2024
AUTHOR'S NOTE: The Warrensburg Police Department issues their reports to the press once weekly. These reports are for every incident submitted from August 5th through August 11th, 2024. The reports were submitted to KSIS on August 30, 2024.
On 08/05/2024 at 0140 hours, Officers were dispatched to the 400 block of Ming Street in reference to a domestic disturbance. A female subject reported that she was assaulted by a known male subject. Inoky Joseph, 19, was arrested for Domestic Assault. He was transported to the Warrensburg Police Department, booked and released with a citation.
On 8/5/2024 at 0349 hours, Officers were dispatched to the 600 block of Burkarth Road in reference to a suicidal male subject. The male subject went voluntarily to Western Missouri Medical Center to seek help.
On 8/5/2024 at 0854 hours, Officers were dispatched to a business at 328 East Young Street. The store manager, Amanda Monteith, reported that an unknown male subject entered the front of the store and filled an orange cloth bag with merchandise and exited the store through the emergency exit located in the rear of the store. This incident is under investigation.
On 08/05/2024 at approximately 0938 hours, Officers conducted a traffic stop on a white Ford F-150 at South Maguire Street and East Clark Street. Robert Wayne York, 51, of Warrensburg was arrested for a warrant on original charges of felony Possession of a Controlled Substance and Unlawful Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. York also did not have a valid driver's license. He was transported to the Warrensburg Police Department, processed and transported to the Johnson County Jail. Bond was set at $10,000 cash only on August 14th in this matter, but after a hearing, bond was modified. York was released of his own recognizance assuming he meets bond conditions which include bond supervision and a mandatory drug patch*.
On 8/5/2024 at 1234 hours, Asset Protection Agent Ryan Jones, reported that an unknown female subject was actively stealing two alcoholic beverages from a business at 301 East Cooper Boulevard. The female subject left the scene prior to officers arriving. The incident report notes the investigation is ongoing, and the arrest report notes a few hours later that Destiny D. Harris, 25, was arrested on a charge of Shoplifting in the 100 block of South Holden Street.
On 8/5/2024 at 1608 hours, Officers responded to the 500 block of West Young Street for a reported sexual assault. Upon arrival, I spoke with a known female who stated she was sexually assaulted by a known male subject sometime at night on 7/19/2024. This incident is under investigation.
On 8/5/2024 at approximately 2241 hours, I conducted a subject check in the 100 block of West Pine Street. A male subject was arrested on two Johnson County Probation Violation Warrants on original charges of felony Unlawful Use of a Weapon and felony Possession of a Controlled Substance. Daniel Jason Netz, 55, of Warrensburg, was placed under arrest and transported to the Johnson County Jail in lieu of bond. Both warrants carried a cash only bond of $5,000 each. As of August 30th, there is another Probation Violation in both of those cases.
On 08/06/2024 at approximately 0705 hours, Officers were dispatched to the 700 block of East Market Street. Officers were informed that a male subject present had an active warrant out of Jackson County from 2019 on original charges of felony Possession of a Controlled Substance. The warrant was confirmed and the male was arrested. Nathan Stanley Toubia, 44, of Kansas City, was then transported to the Johnson County Jail for extradition.
On 08/06/2024 at approximately 1349 hours, Officers were dispatched to a theft that occurred in the 200 block of North College Street at approximately 1130 hours. Holly Wilcoxen stated her phone was stolen and an known female subject possibly stole it. Officers soon located the female suspect and she was not in possession of the stolen phone. Investigation is ongoing.
On 8/6/2024 at approximately 1337 hours, Officers were dispatched to the 600 block of Oakmont Drive for a theft. Catherine Hallock reported a known female subject had stolen approximately $4300.00 from her bank account from 1/1/2024 to 6/30/2024.
Investigation ongoing.
On 8/6/2024 at approximately 1455 hours, Officers responded to the 300 block of Jefferson Street for a domestic disturbance. A known male and female subject
were involved in a domestic disturbance regarding car keys. Nicholas Antonio Willis, 26, of Warrensburg, was arrested for a Failure to Appear warrant on original charges of Driving While Suspended and placed in the Johnson County Jail. This incident will be sent to the prosecutor for review regarding the domestic disturbance.
On 08/06/2024 at approximately 1715 hours, Officers received information of a trespassing that occurred at a business located at 301 E Cooper Boulevard. The incident took place on 8/1/24 at 0959 hours. A female subject was seen trespassing after previously being trespassed from the property. The female was later arrested and cited for trespassing. She was processed and released from the Warrensburg Police Department. The arrestee was not named in the report.
On 08/06/2024 at 2058 hours, Officers were dispatched to a business at 1005 Hawthorne Blvd. in reference of a guest locating a bag filled with multiple items of drug paraphernalia in their hotel room. The items were seized and placed into evidence for destruction.
On 8/6/2024 at approximately 2238 hours, Officers responded to a business at 131 W Pine Street in reference to a leaving the scene vehicle crash. While conducting the
investigation a vehicle matching the description of the suspect vehicle drove past and parked. Contact was made with the male driver of that vehicle. Tyler James Skelton, 22, was arrested for Driving While Intoxicated, Open Container, and cited for No Insurance. He was booked and released from the Warrensburg Police Department.
On 8/7/24 at 0955 hours, Officers stopped a male subject on a bicycle in the 700 block of N Maguire Street after he cut across traffic, causing an officer to slam on their brakes to prevent from colliding with him. Christopher Shane Battles, 33, was arrested for a Clinton PD Failure to Appear warrant on original charges of Operating a Motor Vehicle With out Maintaining Financial Responsibility. The warrant carried a cash only bond of $225.00. Battles also had two FTA warrants from the Harrisonville PD on charges of Expired Plates, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, and Operating a Motor Vehicle With out Maintaining Financial Responsibility. Bond on those warrants totaled $484.00 cash or surety. He was placed in the Johnson County Jail awaiting extradition.
On 8/7/24 at 1123 hours, Officers took a report of stealing that occurred on 8/1/24 at 1230 hours in the 100 Block of West Pine Street. A male suspect, Michael James Nupp, 27, was identified and contacted. Nupp returned the stolen property to the Police and was issued a summons for Stealing.
On 8/7/2024 Officers were dispatched to the Probation and Parole Office at
505 N Ridgeview Drive in regard to a warrant service. Nathan Allen Riley, 36, was placed under arrest for an active confirmed warrant out of Camden County for Failure to Appear on original charges of felony Domestic Assault in the 3rd Degree with no bond. He was transported to Johnson County Jail. The case was set for a Probation Violation hearing today (9/4/24), and Riley was released of his own recognizance on August 23rd.
On 08/07/24 at approximately 1401 hours, I was dispatched to 102 S Holden
Street in reference to the report of multiple past occurred ex-parte violations. The violations occurred between the dates of 09/04/23 to 08/05/24. Investigation ongoing.
On 8/7/24 at 1706 hours, Officers responded to a theft that had just occurred
in the 100 Block of North Maguire Street. Investigation ongoing.
On 08/07/2024 at approximately 1746 hours, Officers were dispatched to a business at
301 East Cooper Boulevard in reference to shoplifting reported by Asset Protection Agent Shelbie Stafford. Upon arrival Shelbie reported a known female subject had shoplifted items between the hours of 1744 and 1746 on 08/07/24. Investigation
ongoing.
On 8/7/24 at approximately 2246 hours, Officers were dispatched to a call in the 600 block of Burkarth Road. Upon arrival, Officers located a female subject that had a warrant out of Warrensburg PD for Failure to Appear on original charges of Indecent Exposure. Robin Gean Hankins, 40, was placed in the Johnson County Jail in lieu of a $500 cash or surety bond. Hankins was sentenced to two days in jail on August 9th, costs were waived, and the hearing was cancelled on August 12th concerning this charge. However, on August 12th, Hankins was cited again by WPD, on a charge of Trespassing. As of August 28th, 2024, she did not appear in court on the new charge and an FTA warrant has been issued.
On 8/8/24 at approximately 0002 hours, Officers were dispatched for a report of a theft. A female subject stated that she was scammed out of $75 and was now being threatened by them. Investigation continues.
On 08/07/2024 at 2351 hours, I was dispatched to the 600 block of Spring Ridge Rd in reference to an assault. A female subject reported that a known male subject assaulted her and possibly stole items from her. She was also assaulted by a known female subject. Investigation ongoing.
On 8/8/24 at 1114 hours, Officers took a felony theft report that occurred on 8/7/24 at 1432 hours in the 600 Block of Springridge Road. Michael Lee Conway, 19, was identified and later apprehended on a charge of felony Theft ($750 or more). Conway was booked and released from the WPD.
On 08/08/2024 at 2002 hours, Officers were dispatched to Western Missouri Medical
Center at 403 Burkarth Road in reference a dog bite that occurred in the 600 block of East Market Street. Alicia Turner reported she was bit by an unknown dog while walking her dog.
On 8/8/2024 at 1936 hours, Officers were dispatched to the 900 block of Coventry Court in reference to a male subject making threats with a firearm. Officers arrived on scene and identified the male subject. Due to conflicting stories, no arrests were made at this time. The firearm was seized for evidence and charges will be sent up to the Prosecutor's Office.
On 8/8/2024 at 2234 hours, Officers were dispatched to a business at 1299 N 13 HWY in reference to a intoxicated male subject causing a disturbance and harassing customers. Officers arrived on scene and the male subject assaulted the Officer trying to detain him. Austin Bailey Witkowski, 24, was taken into custody and was transported to WMMC for treatment. He was given three city summons and left in the care of the hospital. As of news time, these summonses are not available in Casenet.
On 08/06/2024 at approximately 1713 hours, Officers responded to a local grocery store at 410 E Young Street in regards to a found property call. Employees located numerous items belonging to a known female subject in the store. Officers took custody of the items and are attempting to contact her. The property was placed into evidence for safekeeping until she can be contacted.
On 8/9/2024 at 1029 hours, Tim Neiman called in and requested that Officers respond to the 200 block of Sellman Street for a welfare check. Officers located a 72 year old male subject deceased in the home. He appeared to have died of natural causes. The Coroner responded and took custody of him.
On 08/09/2024 at approximately 1310 hours, Officers were dispatched to a local ballpark at 518 Southwest Drive regarding Property Damage. Peter Ricciotti with the Warrensburg Parks and Rec stated that an unknown individual had blown up the inside and bottom portion of a Port-a-Potty with a suspected fireworks sometime between 8/5/2024 at around 1100 hours and 8/9/2024 at round 1310 hours . Investigation ongoing.
On 08/09/2024 at 1937 hours, I responded to the 400 block of Burkarth Rd. in regards to a female subject wanting to make an ex-parte violation report. Michael Dean Smelser, 37, was arrested for violation of a court order. He was transported to the
Warrensburg Police Department, processed and released.
On 8/9/2024 at 2029 hours, Christopher Stultz reported that a known female subject assaulted him in the 100 block of West Culton Street. Cora Jean Comfort Miller, 31, was arrested for Domestic Assault. She was transported to the Warrensburg Police Department, processed and released.
On 8/10/2024 at approximately 0817 hours, Officers were dispatched to the 200 block Ming Street for a theft report. Zachary Roofe reported that a known male subject stole 40 of his Trazodone pills sometime during the night of 8/9/2024 to 08/10/2024 at 0650 hours. Investigation ongoing.
On 8/10/2024 at approximately 1037 hours, Officers were dispatched to the 500 block of West Clark Street for a dog bite. Sarah McGowen reported that when she was
delivering food to a known female subject and that her dog bit her finger. The
dog's owner provided up to date vaccination records. McGowen did not wish to
file charges.
On 08/10/2024 at approximately 1307 hours, Cory Siewart reported that the front license plate was stolen/missing off of her vehicle in the business parking lot at 302 E Cooper Boulevard between 08/07/2024 at approximately 1200 hour to 08/07/2024 at approximately 1600 hours. Officers were unable to confirm if the plate was stolen from the store, or elsewhere. The plate was entered as missing.
On 08/10/2024 at approximately 1519 hours, Officers responded to a business located
at 301 E Cooper Boulevard in regards to a theft call. James Dingus-Fague, 36, was arrested for Shoplifting, Possession of a Controlled Substance, and Possession of Drug
Paraphernalia. He was transported to the Warrensburg Police Department,
booked and released.
On 8/10/2024 at approximately 1704 hours, Officers were dispatched to the 300 block of South Mulberry Street for a disturbance. A female subject reported that a known female assaulted her. Shaneka Kanisha Bryant, 29, was arrested and transported to the Warrensburg Police Department, booked and released for Assault. Suliana Caroline Tonga, 45, the victim, was arrested for a Jackson County (Independence PD) warrant for Failure to Appear on original charges of Assault Tonga was issued a bond of $2,000 and placed in the Johnson County Jail. Tonga also has a current warrant for Failure to Appear from Jackson County (Kansas City PD) on charges of felony Unlawful Use of a Weapon (Shooting at A Person or Building) and Unlawful Possession of a Firearm. Bond on that case is set at $3,000 cash only.
On 8/10/2024 at approximately 2005 hours, Officers were dispatched to the 500 block of West Young Street in reference to a possible assault. Officers located an injured female subject at the residence. She was transported by JCAD to WMMC for evaluation and treatment. Investigation Continues.
On 08/10/2024 at 2326 hours, Officers were dispatched to a single car motor
vehicle crash with the vehicle engulfed in flames in the 1200 block of North Maguire Street. The driver, Kyle Dennis Huffmaster, 19, was arrested for Driving While Intoxicated and Minor in Possession of Alcohol (MIP). The male passenger, Noah Thomas Thorpe, 19, was arrested for MIP. Both subjects were transported to WMMC for injuries, booked and released at WMMC to staff.
On 08/11/2024 at approximately 1254 hours, Officers received information of a theft from a motor vehicle that occurred in the 400 block of North Mitchell Street. Olivia Dumas reported her vehicle had been broken into and multiple items were stolen. Mashele Marie Overbey, 46, was arrested and booked at WPD for Theft from a Motor Vehicle and Trespass from a Motor Vehicle. Overbey was placed in Johnson County Jail to be housed for extradition on an active Raymore PD warrant on a charge of Larceny. Bond of $100 was posted on August 29th.
On 8/11/2024 at 1433 hours, Seth Heimsoth reported that someone stole his ID, debit card, a bank slip and approximately $5.00 in cash from his vehicle some time between 2200 hours on 8/10/2024 and 1410 on 8/11/2024. Heimsoth stated his vehicle was parked in a city parking lot in the 200 block of W Pine Street. Investigation Ongoing.
