A Warrensburg man suffered minor injuries Wednesday evening after he tried to avoid colliding with vehicles slowed down for deer in the roadway and skidded into the median.

The MSHP said that 27-year-old Michael A. Versch of Warrensburg was the driver of an eastbound 2005 Ford Escape on US 50 between PCA Road and Route 13 in Johnson County shortly before 6:30 when he steered to avoid a collision with two vehicles that had slowed down for deer in the roadway. The Escape then began to skid, traveled into the median and overturned.

Versch, who was not wearing a safety device according to the report, was transported to Western Missouri Medical Center by JCAD for treatment of minor injuries.

The Escape had extensive damage.
