The Sedalia-Pettis County United Way has introduced a new resource for community organizations and members of the public that are looking for volunteer opportunities. The Volunteer Center allows residents to conduct online searches for organizations that need volunteers, either for one-time projects or ongoing charitable efforts.

"There's a lot of ways to get engaged with the community.," said Staci Harrison with Sedalia-Pettis County United Way. "It's an opportunity for individuals to be able to see the specific activities in which service organizations throughout our community are reaching out and saying 'help.'"

The Volunteer Center is a free resource for local non-profit organizations, whether or not they are United Way partners. "Our Volunteer Center volunteers are working very hard to provide profiles for service organizations in Pettis County and the surrounding area. They do not have to be funded by the Untied Way. We want to be able to share any volunteer opportunity that an organization has." The only requirement for non-profit organizations is that they must have a FEIN number to utilize the volunteer center.

For more details on utilizing the Volunteer Center, the Sedalia-Pettis County United Way can be reached online, or by phone at 660-826-2980.
